Interaction programme held

Traffic SP, Konsam Sarma, has appealed to the people of the State to refrain from reckless and unethical traffic practices while using the roads and to value human life above all else .
He made the appeal at a one day interaction programme on Traffic rules and regulations organised by New Lambulane Tribal Market Autorickshaw (P) Association and SP Traffic Control Wing at New Lambulane Tribal Market today .
Speaking as the chief guest, he said that numerous individuals have lost their lives as a result of the failure to follow proper traffic rules and regulations in the rush to be on time for works and business .
He urged the people to remember that human lives are far more important than work or business .
Konsam Sarma said that aside from fining only those who break traffic rules, an award programme for those people who stringently follow the requisite traffic rules and regulations will also be organised from September 4 onwards .
A certificate signed by the Member Secretary of Legal Services Authority and the SP Traffic will be given to those who follow the traffic rule and possess all the requisite documents.
An individual who manages to get five of these certificates will be given a traffic cup/ trophy while those who manages to get the most certificates in a year will be felicitated, he added .
Sarma also stated that Fast Track Traffic Courts will also be set up at various parts of Imphal at the earliest .
Head Master of Kasom Khullen High School, Shyamkesho and New Lambulane Welfare Committee vice chairman, Sumpi Morish attended the event as the president and guest of honour respectively.
