Ever since Dr. Christina Klein was a little girl, she’s had a passion for painting, art and design.

And she’s quick to explain that her special affection for creativity was greatly influenced by her talented and gifted mother, Rosemary Klein, an accomplished artist and art teacher in her own right.

Throughout the years, Rosemary’s exhibited her original work and she taught thousands of students on Staten Island. In fact, Christina says, he mom was her own art teacher in elementary school — something she described as such great fun.

“Being surrounded and inspired by art has had a strong influence in my life and eventually my current career,” Dr. Klein gushed. “She is the main reason I love art and being an artist today. Growing up with a paint brush in hand, I have enjoyed creating and expressing myself through art using all types of media. Having graduated with a dual degree in art and science from Wagner College has not only enriched my life but also influenced my current career in dentistry.”

If Dr. Klein’s name sounds familiar, it should. Dr. Christina Klein and her sister, Dr. Diane Klein maintain a dental practice in Great Kills, called Dynamic Dental. And it’s been said many times that D.D.S. stands for Dynamic Dental Sisters.

DR. CHRISTINA KLEIN SPEAKS CANDIDLY ABOUT HER LOVE OF ART

“Having an art background has only enhanced the customized artistic dentistry I provide to my patients,” Dr. Klein continued. “Having a creative eye with appreciation for color matching and individual smile design has truly been an invaluable asset.”

We learned Dr. Klein has been the recipient of numerous art awards and had her work on exhibit in a number of art galleries throughout Staten Island and in Manhattan.

At this writing she’s delighted — and extremely proud — to report she’s been chosen as a contest winner: Her artwork will be on view along with the latest exhibition of the famous Austrian artist Gustav Klimt’s landscapes at the opulent and luxurious mansion of the Neue Galerie Museum on Manhattan’'s Fifth Avenue.

Dr. Klein’s contribution will be part of the incredible exhibit that runs through Monday, May 6.

“Only 16 pieces of art were selected from a large number of submissions by a special jury for this exclusive exhibit on public display,” commented Dr. Klein. “What an honor to have been chosen! Seeing my artwork at the Galerie in person is thrilling! We were invited to present an interpretation of one of our favorite summertime landscapes inspired by Klimt. My contribution was inspired by Klimt’s ‘Poppy Field.’

Dr. Klein’s offered a description of her artwork she calls, “Inspired by Poppy Field.”

And her heartfelt words became an excerpt that was part of her submission:

“In my artwork, I can see myself running through the poppy field on a breezy summer afternoon stopping to gather a lovely bouquet of flowers along the way. It’s all a blur as the vibrant colors surround me. I am filled with joy!”

Dr. Klein added that it’s wonderful to know that creative possibilities are infinite and added a quote by Gustav Klimt, himself: “There is always hope, as long as the canvases are empty.”

Dr. Klein is so pleased to be able to create artwork inspired by a master of his craft.

“I am thrilled to be part of this special presentation on display at this beautiful museum. This experience ignites my passion to continue to create!”

Dr. Klein is also thankful for the encouragement, love and support from her family and friends and most especially grateful for her sister and partner at Dynamic Dental PLLC, Dr. Diane Klein, who encouraged her to enter the contest.
