Gideon Amos, MP for Taunton and Wellington, is hosting a “Rebuild our NHS” public meeting at the end of May with a panel of health experts to answer questions.

The event, which will take place May 30 from 7.30pm, is to be held at the CIC Memorial Hall on Paul Street in Taunton.

The call for a public meeting follows 2,000 local people responding to the MP's survey on NHS dentistry, and his contributions in parliament on the need for investment in Musgrove Park Hospital, which Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Ed Davey also supported at Prime Minister’s Questions recently.

The MP said: “I was blown away by so many people responding to my survey on NHS dentistry and I am grateful to all 2,000 local people who shared their experiences and gave me a great deal of insight into the effect the broken system is having on their lives.

“The response to the survey shows that my constituents want to have their voices heard. The next step to make that possible is therefore this public meeting, where I will share the initial findings of my survey, and open up the discussion and get expert responses to issues faced by the NHS and to issues raised at the event."

The meeting will be free of charge and feature recent Taunton GP Dr Lucy Pendered, Jonathan Mynors-Wallis of the British Dental Association, and Cllr Sarah Wakefield who will speak in her capacity as Somerset Council lead on Social Care.
