
Police Arrest 9 in Balaka During Night Raids Over Drug and Theft Charges

Police in Balaka have arrested nine individuals in connection with various criminal offenses during a night operation conducted on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to Balaka Police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha, the suspects, aged between 20 and 50, were apprehended during a sweeping exercise that took place in Mbera, Sawali, and Mpezeni markets.
M’bumpha said the individuals were found in possession of Indian hemp (chamba), suspected stolen property, and were also involved in theft and unlawful possession of items believed to be stolen.
He further stated that the suspects will soon appear before court to answer charges related to the offenses.
