Period drama on Amazon Prime is 'sexy as hell' and boasts 'exquisite' performances
Fans of the romance in Pride and Prejudice or the sauciness of Bridgerton will love this series
Devotees of Pride and Prejudice's romance or Bridgerton's raciness are in for a treat with the series inspired by Jane Austen's last, unfinished novel.
Sanditon is the TV sensation spanning three seasons, rooted in Jane Austen's posthumously discovered incomplete manuscript.
Starting with an adherence to Jane Austen's original work in the pilot, the series writers have since beautifully expanded the narrative, leveraging well-loved characters to craft a tale that resonates with today's viewers.
One Rotten Tomatoes critic praised: "This show is a beautiful story with vivid characters that are so relatable. Jane Austen's final, unfinished work was brought to life beautifully by all involved."
They added: "And the chemistry between Rose Williams as Charlotte and Ben Lloyd-Hughes as Alexander was off the CHARTS. The entire cast was on point; the music, cinematography, scenery, scripts, etc. - everything was truly remarkable."
Set amidst the Regency period's grandeur and elegance, Sanditon introduces viewers to the adventures of young Charlotte Heywood in the fledgling coastal resort of the same name.

The opening season introduced Theo James as the dashing hero who captures the heart of the naive charmer Charlotte, only to take them through a passionate love affair with a heartbreaking finale which sees his character absent in the second season run.
The ensemble cast of the period drama, particularly Rose Williams and Ben Lloyd-Hughes, has been receiving heaps of praise for their on-screen chemistry in season two.
One review gushed: "Masterful storytelling. Exquisite performances by Rose Williams and Ben Lloyd-Hughes establish Charlotte Heywood and Alexander Colbourne as an iconic Austen couple. Bring them back to tell more stories of their life in Sanditon."
The romantic entanglements are a hit among fans, as expected from a juicy period piece.
In its third and final season, Sanditon sees Charlotte returning to the now-thriving town just in time for a grand celebration.
Yet, as she gears up for the festivities, Charlotte faces an uncomfortable reunion with her former flame, Alexander Colbourne, stirring up a whirlwind of emotions.
Sanditon's last season is making waves, boasting a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes at 100%. Reflecting on the series' evolution, a critic from The Times noted:"After a tame series one and two, Sanditon may finally have found its soul. And a flavour that at least faintly tastes of Jane Austen.
