In the same context, he announced that the Corporation completed the first phase of the installation of smart meters in homes after it installed 17,000 electricity meters and 17,000 water meters, and it entered the second phase from 2018 to 2024. By 2024 or before meters will become smart and can be read and controlled remotely.

Kahramaa President said that the Corporation was able to save QR7.9bn between 2016 and 2018 after adopting a plan to re-engineer the projects it carried out, without impact on the quality of these projects and their objectives.

According to the statistics presented by Al Kuwari, the number of electricity main transmission stations in the country reached 309 stations in 2017, up from 239 stations in 2013, and is expected to reach 430 stations in 2024.
