ALYI - Alternet Systems Hemp Energy Initiative to be Featured on Upcoming Goldman Small Cap Research Cannabis Podcast

DALLAS, Dec. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via OTC PR WIRE -- Alternet Systems, Inc. (USOTC: ALYI) today announced that Edward Bollen, president of Alternet operations, will participate in a podcast interview and dialogue hosted by Goldman Small Cap Research and sponsored by North American Cannabis Holdings, Inc. (USOTC: USMJ).  Goldman is producing the segment, to include senior management of several cannabis sector companies, in light of the U.S. Congress recently having passed the $867 billion farm bill that includes the legalization of hemp farming expected to soon be signed into law by President Trump.  Media has extensively covered the promise of legal hemp in regard to the hemp-derived CBD market, but the economic impact of hemp is far more reaching than just CBD extract.  The Goldman cannabis podcast plans to shed light on the multitude of uses of hemp and the business opportunities of hemp.  Alternet’s project to explore and develop hemp-based technologies for energy storage is one example of how much more far reaching legal hemp can go then just CBD extract.  Look for an announcement coming soon from Goldman Small Cap Research and USMJ on the cannabis podcast.

In October of this year, Alternet initiated a project to explore and develop hemp-based technologies for energy storage.  The company engaged Clarkson University Professor David Mitlin to lead the initiative.  Professor Mitlin is a leading expert in electrochemistry and a pioneer in the use of hemp as a clean, green, renewable energy in the form of a supercapacitor.  Mitlin has successfully used hemp bast – the fiber left over from processing hemp – to construct carbon nanosheets that compete with, and in some respects, outperform the supercapacitor performance derived from more typical graphene nanosheets.

Alternet Systems is focused on offering varied, environmentally sustainable, energy storage solutions for targeted markets, including consumer electric vehicles and military applications. The first product category is lithium battery-powered motorcycles, to be followed by motorbikes. These products are released through the company’s newly launched ReVolt Electric Motorbikes subsidiary.
