tamika l. butler- Women Who Dared Honoree

CABWHP concludes 30th anniversary celebrations by honoring the legacy of Black women past and present at the annual Women Who Dared awards.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, May 13, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- California Black Women’s Health Project (CABWHP) is proud to announce that renowned advocate, attorney, and equity strategist tamika l. butler will be honored at the 2025 Women Who Dared brunch and awards ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills. This year's event, themed “Rooted in Care & Truth: Nurturing Black Women’s Wellness,” will recognize visionary leaders like tamika who are actively dismantling systemic inequities while building pathways for a healthier, more just future.

With a career spanning public health, law, transportation equity, and nonprofit leadership, tamika has become a driving force in the movement toward racial and social justice. Her work challenges institutions to not just acknowledge inequity, but to transform themselves through authentic care, accountability, and collaboration.

As the founder of Tamika L. Butler Consulting, tamika advises organizations nationwide on issues of diversity, inclusion, and systemic change. Her leadership roles at institutions like the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and Toole Design underscore her deep commitment to intersectional public health, urban justice, and community-centered policy. tamika’s work reflects the very values that drive CABWHP’s mission to promote the health and wellbeing of Black women and girls: collaboration across communities, empowerment of marginalized voices, and an unapologetic centering of Black women’s wellbeing, leadership, and liberation.

“tamika’s courageous leadership is a beacon for what it means to reimagine systems with care, justice, and truth at the center. Her work embodies the fierce spirit of Women Who Dared, and we are honored to celebrate her impact,” said Sonya Young Aadam, CEO of California Black Women’s Health Project.

tamika l. butler is one of four phenomenal honorees being recognized at Women Who Dared 2025. To learn more about the event, purchase tickets, or explore sponsorship opportunities, visit www.cabwhp.org/wwd or contact our event organizer, Brianna Holmes, at brianna@cabwhp.org.
